Day One
Whether you're driving from Reykjavík or even directly from Keflavik Airport, here are some activities on the way:Recreation in Hveragerði Walking trails, the famous warm river in Reykjadalur Valley, the historic public swimming pool are all found in Hveragerði village.Try the Nordic-style Smørrebrød at Matkráin for lunch or any of the variety of restaurants in the village. Check-in at Álftröð is only 40 mintues away!Dinner Restaurant Mika in Reykholt (20 min) is a family business run by the couple Michał and Bożena Józefik. Don't leave before trying the handmade chocolate and remember to book in advance....
Day Two
Drive less than 30 minutes to the "bluest waterfall" of Brúarfoss. You can either do the direct 5 minute walk or the full hike along the river, which 3.5 km so expect 2-3 hours total time on site.Now it's time for refreshments nearby, at Efsti-Dalur dairy arm where you can watch ice cream and cheese making directly from the restaurant or the ice cream shop.
The swimming pool at Laugarvatn has a 25 meter pool, 3 hot tubs and a sauna. Another option is the Fontanta Natural Baths.
All food tastes better in the countryside. In the Héradsskólan everyone makes an effort to maintain that habit and good taste. Book in advance.

Álftröð Gistihús
Álftröð Gistihús hóf rekstur í nýrri byggingu árið 2015, staðsett 35 km frá Selfossi. Það er 360° fjallasýn frá gistihúsinu og útsýni yfir sum frægustu eldfjöll Íslands eins og Heklu, Eyjafjallajökul og Tindfjöll. Í nágrenninu er hægt að finna góðar gönguleiðir og áhugaverða sögustaði.Í húsinu eru svefnrými fyrir 20 manns í 9 herbergjum. Öll herbergin eru með skrifsborðsaðstöðu og gestir geta notið fjallaútsýnis úr herberginu. Það er baðherbergi með sturtu og wc í hverju herbergi og hafa gestir aðgang að sameiginleiginlegri setustofu. Ókeypis WiFi er í húsinu. Úti á verönd er heitur pottur sem gestir hafa frjálsan aðgang að. Píanó er til staðar í húsinu. Aðgangur hópsins að eldhúsi, ef allt húsið er bókað.
Einkaleiga á húsinu
